Services

One centre. Many parts of the obesity-care journey.

OHC offers multidisciplinary support for people living with obesity, people considering treatment, patients preparing for bariatric surgery and patients who need long-term aftercare. You may come to us for one service, but we will always consider the bigger picture of your health.

Medical obesity assessment

A medical obesity assessment helps identify health risks, possible causes, related conditions and treatment options.

This may include:

  • Medical history
  • Weight history
  • Co-morbidity screening
  • Medication review
  • Blood tests
  • Referral to relevant team members
  • Treatment planning

Medical weight management

Medical weight management supports patients who need structured, clinically guided care. The goal is to improve health, not simply to reduce weight.

This may be appropriate if you have:

  • Type 2 diabetes, hypertension or high cholesterol
  • Reflux disease or sleep apnoea
  • Joint pain or fatty liver concerns
  • Weight regain or previous failed weight-loss attempts

Medication-supported weight care

Weight-loss medication may be suitable for some patients, but it needs proper assessment and monitoring. Medication works best when it forms part of a broader care plan.

OHC supports patients with:

  • Suitability assessment
  • Medical guidance and monitoring / follow-up
  • Nutrition support and side-effect guidance
  • Long-term planning

Bariatric and metabolic surgery

Bariatric surgery can be an effective treatment for obesity and related health conditions in appropriately selected patients. Surgery is not one-size-fits-all — your team will help guide the right decision.

OHC supports patients through:

  • Surgical education and medical / psychological assessment
  • Dietician preparation and multidisciplinary review
  • Procedure selection guidance and surgery preparation
  • Hospital pathway, recovery and long-term follow-up
